Senior Hydrologist-15 years

Experience: Minimum 12–15 yearsQualification: Postgraduate degree in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline.Key Responsibilities* Conduct hydrological assessments of watersheds, river basins, lakes, and groundwater systems.* Analyze rainfall, runoff, streamflow, groundwater recharge, and water balance data.* Develop and calibrate hydrological and hydraulic models for flood forecasting, water resource planning, and climate resilience studies.* Assess flood risks and recommend mitigation measures, including nature-based solutions.* Evaluate surface water and groundwater interactions and prepare water resource inventories.* Support the preparation of master plans, regional plans, and infrastructure projects by integrating hydrological considerations.* Identify water-related risks and propose sustainable water management strategies.* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental, geological, infrastructure, tourism, and urban planning experts.* Engage with government agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders to collect data and validate findings.* Prepare technical reports, maps, presentations, and documentation in accordance with project requirements.Required Skills* Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, MIKE Suite, SWAT, or WEAP.* Strong knowledge of watershed management, floodplain analysis, and climate change adaptation.* Experience with GIS and remote sensing tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS.* Familiarity with national and international water resource management guidelines.* Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Preferred Experience* Experience in at least two master planning, river basin management, or water resource development projects.* Prior experience working with multidisciplinary teams on urban, regional, or tourism development projects.* Experience with projects funded by multilateral agencies such as ADB, World Bank, or similar institutions is desirable.
