Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager

Job description

**Company Mission** Payhawk is one AI-powered spend management platform for scaling businesses — corporate cards, expense management, procurement, and accounts payable, unified in one place. We serve finance teams across 32+ countries, cutting month-end close time and reconciling 99.7% of transactions with zero manual touch. AI runs through the platform as core infrastructure, not a bolted-on feature — and we hire the top 1% of talent in every function to keep building it that way. **Why Payhawk** Payhawk, where the bold builders make an impact. We're not a family, we're a high-performance team — and that's deliberate. We debate, ideate, and push each other to be better, because the best ideas come from direct feedback. We've already made history as Bulgaria's first unicorn, but the ambition doesn't stop there: if you want to grow fast - own it; do not wait for it. **Give**: Honest opinions, real ownership, a focus on outcomes. **Get**: A front-row seat to a market leader in one of the fastest-moving industries. --- ### The role, in one line As Payhawk’s first lifecycle marketing hire, you will build email from zero into a channel for nurturing prospects and retaining customers. This is a senior individual-contributor role reporting to the VP Growth Marketing, with plans to build a team within 12 to 18 months. ### What you will own - Build and run renewal and retention campaigns that protect and grow our existing customer base. - Launch and manage lead-nurture tracks for prospects who are not yet sales-ready. - Launch and manage opportunity-nurture tracks that expand the scope of deals and increase win rates. - Expand into upsell and expansion campaigns, win-back and reactivation flows, and customer advocacy programmes (case studies, referrals and NPS). - Align campaigns with each region’s pipeline and retention targets, working directly with regional marketing leads. - Partner with marketing operations so that every campaign is tracked and reported accurately. - Own all external customer email communications. Support and Product Marketing will still start their own service and product updates, and you will manage the overall flow and the sending. ### What you will need **Must-have** - Senior lifecycle marketing experience in B2B SaaS, with hands-on experience building nurture, onboarding, retention or win-back programmes from scratch - Deep, hands-on expertise with a marketing automation platform end to end, covering segmentation, journey and workflow building, and reporting, not just template design - Comfort being the first and only person in the role, building with no existing playbook or team to inherit - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, as you will work closely with regional marketing, ABM, partnerships and marketing operations - A track record of using retention and expansion metrics (NRR, GRR, churn) to guide campaign strategy, not just open and click rates **Nice-to-have** - Experience building these programmes from scratch more than once ### **What you will get** - **Recharge properly** — 30 days of paid holiday - **Change the view** — a week-long exchange to London, Amsterdam, Paris, Munich, Vilnius, Berlin, Sofia, or Barcelona - **Win together, celebrate together** — regular team-wide events that are actually worth showing up to - **Covered, properly** — additional medical care - **Stay in the game** — a sports card, fully funded, for the gym, classes, or your sport of choice - **Commute easily** — a monthly travel allowance that covers getting to and from the office - **Use what you build** — hands-on access to the actual product you're hiring people to help build *Payhawk is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender perception or identity, national origin, age, marital status, protected veteran status, or disability status.*
