Manages budgets and resources, maintains appropriate staffing and understands healthcare finance. Leads and supports performance and quality improvement initiatives, implements evidence-based practice changes, and ensures compliance with professional standards and hospital policies. Utilizes critical thinking and technology in decision-making, problem-solving, and integrating new systems to enhance patient care and outcomes. Provides strong leadership and mentorship, ensures high-quality clinical care, supports staff development, and maintains clear communication and planning for patient care delivery. Encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and maintains positive relationships with patients, staff, vendors, and other departments to ensure patient-centered care. Demonstrates professionalism, supports ongoing education and development, maintains confidentiality, and upholds ethical standards and organizational policies. Other duties as assigned. - AdventHealth Orlando Cardiovascular Surgery has 7 CVOR’s and one hybrid one. - We perform a full array of cardiovascular surgeries including bypass, valve replacement/repair, TAVR, heart transplant, lung transplant, multiorgan transplant, VAD insertions, impella transplant, ECMO and pediatric congenitial heart procedures. Ventricular assist device, Implella insertion, Aordic aneurysm repair & aordic disection - The thoracic line has 3 OR’s, one equipped with a Davinci XI robot. - A variety of lung esophageal, and chest procedures are done including HIOC (heated intraoperative chemotherapy) cases for mesothelioma. - We performed over 3,600 Cardiovascular and thoracic specific surgeries last year.
