Senior PM, Core

Job description

What you'll do Strategy & Delivery Define the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for your core product area — spanning applications such as Notebook, Worksheet, Tasks, and Inventory — prioritizing ruthlessly based on user impact, competitive dynamics, and data. Lead end-to-end product development from problem definition through launch and iteration, working backwards from customer needs to form clear product conviction and shippable execution plans. Drive rapid concept prototyping and validation — building and showing demos early and often, internally and externally, to test hypotheses and establish product-market fit with design partners and lighthouse customers. Anticipate and shape the evolution of core applications toward agentic workflows, identifying where AI can materially improve how scientists work and sequencing capabilities into experiences customers will actually adopt. Execution & Collaboration Spend significant time with scientists, customers, and internal stakeholders to understand how they actually work — conducting hands-on user research and translating those insights into prioritized product decisions. Partner deeply with engineering, design, and AI/ML teams to ship high-quality, intuitive, and reliable workflows, sweating the details of interaction models, UI behavior, performance, and adoption paths. Collaborate closely with go-to-market, solutions, support, and forward-deployed teams to ensure product strategy reflects enterprise realities and addresses real customer pain points — not internal assumptions. Navigate ambiguity and create structure where the right answer is not obvious — forming hypotheses, testing them quickly, and updating the approach when data demands it. Leadership & Impact Drive clarity and alignment among key stakeholders across the organization, including executives and adjacent teams, on priorities, tradeoffs, and product direction. Bring a high bar for product craft — not only identifying the right opportunities but being deeply invested in how they should work in practice, from workflow design through to adoption. Serve as a credible cross-functional partner to engineering, design, data, and commercial teams, earning trust through competence, follow-through, and a bias toward outcomes over outputs. You will have 5+ years of product management experience shipping products that users love, with a track record of owning product areas end-to-end in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or highly technical platforms. Experience in science-focused vertical SaaS; Demonstrated ability to translate complex, ambiguous user needs into clear, prioritized roadmaps and polished product experiences. Strong product sense and user empathy — you know the difference between a product that works and one that delights, built through direct and repeated exposure to users. Comfort prototyping in design or code to validate ideas before committing to full build cycles. AI-native mindset — you actively use AI tools in your own product craft and have strong intuition for how AI products should behave and where they fall short. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage with engineers on tradeoffs, partner with design on interaction details, and present strategy to executives. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams and time zones. Key competencies Systems Thinking: Ability to visualize and design how AI agent systems connect, share data, and enable valuable customer outcomes at scale. Grit: Self-starter, persistent problem solver, relentless in the pursuit of progress in ambiguous 0-to-1 product environments. Customer Empathy: Deep understanding of how enterprise customers operate; asks the right questions and designs solutions that stick. Innovator: Passionate about applying emerging AI capabilities to practical, measurable business problems before the patterns are written. Adaptability: Comfortable operating in dynamic, fast-moving customer and company environments where the approach evolves with new information. Leadership: Ability to drive agent skill initiatives end-to-end with minimal oversight, aligning cross-functional teams to shared outcomes. Why Albert? We have a huge impact. Albert is a growing team with a global reach. We’re building toward a future where discovery feels like exploration, not administration. Where chemists can pursue their most ambitious ideas without friction. We love our global team. Albert’s home-base is in the California Bay Area, but we have multiple offices and employees sprinkled around the globe: India, Germany and Japan. In fact, over 50% of our employees work outside of California. An international remote culture is in our DNA. We care about you. Albert works hard to create a positive environment for our employees, and we think your life outside of work is important too. We work hard and we play hard. We value diversity. Growing and maintaining our inclusive and diverse team matters to us. We are committed to being a company where our employees feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves to work and have the ability to be successful — every day. We’re always looking for humble, sharp, and creative folks to join the Albert team. If you think you might be a fit, please apply. Albert helps chemists change the world by building technology that understands how they work. As chemists ourselves, we know what it’s like when software doesn’t work the way you do — stuck with systems built by people who never spent a day at the bench. That’s why we created Albert OS, the first AI-native operating system for materials science, designed to remove every obstacle between curiosity and discovery. We are looking for an ambitious and results-driven Product Manager, Core to join our growing team. This role, with a focus on owning product strategy and execution for a core product area, will play a key part in building the applications and workflows that scientists rely on every day. Our core product teams span applications such as Notebook, Worksheet, Tasks and Inventory and support workflows for formulation, synthesis and process development. This role will include driving those experiences toward an agentic future that transforms how R&D work gets done. If you are passionate about cutting-edge technology and thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, we want to hear from you.
