Senior Product Manager, AI & Platform

Job description

Binti builds software for state and county government agencies, focusing on reinventing social services. We started in child welfare, with the mission of helping every child have a safe, loving, and stable family. To date, we’ve helped approve more than 100,000 families to foster or adopt, and we support over 49% of the nation’s child welfare system. We have expanded our product offerings in child welfare, moving more to the root of the problem, helping families stay together and avoid separation, and are now expanding horizontally across other areas in social services. Binti is a for-profit, mission-driven software company based in San Francisco, CA. Investors include Founders Fund, First Round Capital, Kapor Capital, and others. We’re a team of ~90 people and growing quickly. We care about creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome and can bring their full self to work. We have a huge, ambitious vision to rewire government to be more effective in expanding opportunities for people around the world, and we are looking for mission-driven, high-empathy, high-performance, and low-ego team members to join us on our exciting journey towards that vision. ## **LOCATION** Binti is headquartered in Downtown San Francisco. This role is hybrid — in-person from our SF office Mondays and Thursdays (with free lunch!), remote the rest of the week. ## **SCOPE** Social work is one of the most document-intensive and high-stakes professions in the country. Social workers often spend more time on paperwork and data entry than they do with the families they serve. At Binti, we believe technology should be a multiplier for human empathy, not a barrier to it. The **AI & Platform** team owns the foundational engine that powers every module at Binti—from Licensing and Placements to Family Finding and Service Referral Management. This team is responsible for **Binti AI**, our suite of responsible, human-led AI tools like transcription, translation, and case-specific chat that dramatically reduce administrative burden. This role will also own the **Core Platform**, including the shared infrastructure, data models, shared components, and horizontal functionality that allow Binti to scale and grow seamlessly. ## **ABOUT THE ROLE** Binti PMs drive the strategy and execution of the roadmap. As the Senior Product Manager for AI & Platform, you will own a very technically ambitious and horizontally impactful part of our product. You will partner closely with Engineering, Design, and our module-specific squads to ensure that AI and core platform capabilities are deeply integrated into every Binti user’s daily workflow. This is a rare opportunity to define how LLMs and agentic patterns can be used responsibly in government and social services at a national scale. This role will report to our Product Leadership team. ## **WHAT YOU WILL DO** - **Own the AI & Platform Roadmap:** Develop the multi-year vision for how AI and core platform services (e.g., global search, custom data models, forms infrastructure) will evolve to support Binti’s rapid expansion. - **Scale Binti AI:** Drive the development of tools that transform social work, such as automated meeting transcription, intelligent form pre-fill, and "Chat with Binti AI" for instant case insights, while ensuring these tools remain human-led and bias-mitigated. - **Drive Horizontal Impact:** Identify common pain points across different Binti modules and build platform-level solutions that improve the experience for social workers, no matter the workflow. - **Partner with Engineering:** Collaborate with our technical teams to architect scalable AI systems and a flexible platform that can handle complex, agency-specific configurations without increasing operational overhead. - **Prototype Rapidly:** Use AI-native tools (Lovable, Claude Code, Cursor) to build and test high-fidelity prototypes of new platform and AI features in days, not weeks. - **User-Centric Research:** Spend time shadowing social workers and agency leadership to understand how AI can solve their deepest frustrations, ensuring our technical solutions are always grounded in human needs. - **Drive Success Horizontally:** Own the metrics for platform health and AI adoption, focusing on social worker time saved, accuracy of AI-generated drafts, and the "platform velocity" of other product teams. ## **WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT YOU** - **5+ years of product management experience**, with a heavy emphasis on B2B SaaS, developer platforms, or AI-integrated products. Experience with regulated, government-facing, or complex workflow software is a plus. - **Comfortable in technical discussions** on API design, LLM orchestration, and data architecture. You have informed opinions on where AI belongs in high-stakes workflows and where it doesn't. - **AI-native in how you work and what you build.** You already use Claude, Cursor, Lovable, or v0 daily and are excited to stay on the cutting edge as frontier models and applications continue to evolve. - **Excel at taking complex, fragmented requirements and distilling them** with principled systems thinking into elegant, configurable platform components. - **Experience taking products from "early-stage" to "enterprise-scale,"** specifically within regulated or government-facing environments. - **Excellent written and verbal communication** with a range of audiences, from executives and agency leadership to social workers and caregiver families. - **Passion for Binti’s mission and values** and a belief that better technology leads to better outcomes for children and families. *Please note that at this time, Binti is only able to accommodate candidates who are authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.* *Final selected candidates may be required to undergo a background and reference check, including verification of employment and education, criminal history review, and, where applicable, fingerprinting.* **BENEFITS & PERKS** - An above-market compensation package (salary + equity) - Excellent medical, dental, vision, and life insurance - 99% of insurance premiums covered for you + your dependents - Flexible vacation time to promote a healthy work-life blend - 13 paid holidays; 11 federally observed holidays (including Juneteenth), plus Election Day and the day after Thanksgiving - 16 weeks of paid parental bonding leave for the arrival of a newborn or newly placed infant - Sick/mental health time separate from vacation days (accrue up to a cap of 80 hours) - 4 weeks of sabbatical after 4 years of service at the company - 401k, Commuter benefits, FSA, and DCFSA - $5,000 annual bonus for employees who volunteer as a [CASA](https://nationalcasagal.org/) (court-appointed special advocates) - $2,500 annual reimbursement for ongoing learning and development, with opportunities to attend trainings/conferences, on-site speaker series, and lunch and learns - $300 reimbursement for initial office setup - $50 a month effective work reimbursement to cover internet, electricity, office setup costs, or lunch/snacks with coworkers - Paid jury duty At Binti, we celebrate having a diverse team and believe our differences make us stronger. Binti is proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace and is an equal-opportunity employer. We welcome all qualified applicants to apply without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, or protected Veteran status.
