Senior Product Manager (Intuitial)

Job description

### **About Intuitial** Intuitial is a people-first, remote-friendly digital services company serving shoulder-to-shoulder with U.S. federal agencies to deliver innovative, human-centered solutions. We build modern, secure products the right way: with empowered teams, strong delivery discipline, and deep respect for the people who use—and operate—what we ship. We’re guided by values like **Kindness, Grit, Growth Mindset, and Radical Candor**, and we aim to create a culture where people can do their best work with trust, autonomy, and support. We value clear communication, healthy collaboration, and continuous learning—because mission impact and excellent engineering both come from teams who feel safe, accountable, and energized. Our work spans human-centered design, agile delivery, mobile and cloud-native engineering, and practical, responsible use of AI. We’re here to help government services work better for the public—and we believe that starts by building an environment where our teammates can thrive. ### **The role** Intuitial is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead a cross-functional agile team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs' Travel Pay product. The role sits within Intuitial Six, Intuitial's joint venture delivering a larger VA program serving Veterans. This role owns both product and delivery for the team: running the team's agile practice, managing the roadmap and backlog, coordinating releases with other VA teams, and keeping work moving when priorities shift. The Senior Product Manager will present upcoming and completed work to stakeholders and lead working sessions across teams. We look for Product Managers who lead with confidence and bring structure to a team, and who also embrace empowerment and a growth mindset. If you care deeply not just about your own aptitude, but about supporting others' growth, we'd love to hear from you. We look for people who are both tactical and strategic, and who are energized by delivering in complex environments with many moving parts. Most importantly, we look for folks who are passionate about solving problems that impact millions of users. We are here to make a difference in government, and Product Managers are the primary champions of our cause! ### **Contract Timeline** The current contract period ends February 16, 2027. We expect VA to extend the work through June 2027, ahead of a planned recompete. These plans have not been finalized, and the timeline is subject to change. We welcome questions and will share what we know as transparently as we can throughout the hiring process. ## **Responsibilities** - Team Leadership and Delivery - Lead the team's agile practice day to day: plan and facilitate sprint ceremonies, run meetings, and keep the team on track - Help the team establish and refine how it works best, including norms, rituals, and ways of collaborating - Own release planning, dependency tracking, and status reporting for the team - Cross-Team Collaboration - Coordinate with other VA teams, product managers, and partners whose work the team depends on, and who depend on the team - Facilitate cross-team discussions and negotiate release timing and scope across teams - Raise and resolve blockers with dependent teams, escalating when needed so the team can keep delivering - Product Direction and Communication - Partner with VA stakeholders who set product direction, translating their priorities into a clear, iterative plan the team can deliver - Shape and communicate the roadmap as priorities shift, keeping stakeholders and the team aligned on tradeoffs - Bring ideas and recommendations to stakeholders with confidence, grounded in user needs and delivery realities - Agile Delivery - Manage and prioritize the product backlog, and lead regular backlog refinement with the team - Break down problems so value can be delivered iteratively and incrementally. Lead the team to early validation of risky assumptions, and early and continuous delivery of value - Write user stories and acceptance criteria that convey the *what* and *why*, leaving room for the team to determine the *how* - Discovery - Partner with UX research and design on the team to understand users and prioritize the needs that deliver the most value - Establish a healthy, trust-based rapport with teammates and stakeholders - Collaboratively identify and work to understand stakeholder constraints. Develop solutions that address diverse and sometimes conflicting stakeholder needs - We expect the responsibilities of this position to shift and grow organically over time, in response to considerations such as the unique strengths and interests of the selected candidate and other team members and an evolving understanding of the delivery environment ## **Basic Qualifications** - 3+ years of product management or product ownership experience, plus relevant experience in technology delivery or project management - Experience leading a team's agile practice, including facilitating ceremonies, without a dedicated scrum master or delivery manager - Experience delivering products that depend on multiple teams or external stakeholders, including coordinating and negotiating releases - Effective communicator, leader, and motivator - In-depth knowledge and application of Agile principles and practices - Proven track record of launching products from conception to production, and managing clients and key stakeholders - High level cross-disciplinary understanding of the software development process, including research, design, development, testing, and deployment - Comfort and familiarity working in GitHub, including issues, project boards, and pull request workflows - Openness to AI tools and good judgment about where they improve outcomes - Has lived and worked in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years - Some of our clients may request or require travel from time to time. If this is a concern for you, we encourage you to apply and discuss it with us at your initial interview - Able to start within 2 to 4 weeks of an offer. The team is working against near-term deadlines, so we’re looking for someone who can join and ramp up quickly. ## **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience working with government agencies. Familiarity with VA OIT or a similar federal IT environment, including platform governance processes such as VA's collaboration cycle, is a strong plus - Experience using AI-powered prototyping tools or IDEs (such as Vercel V0, Lovable, Replit, Copilot, or Cursor) or enabling technologies such as MCP servers to prototype solutions and support delivery, retaining oversight over all work produced - You are a U.S. Veteran. As a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, Intuitial recognizes the transition to civilian life can be tricky, and welcomes and encourages Veterans to apply. *At Intuitial, we are committed to building teams that represent a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. Even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. We’re eager to meet people who believe in our mission and who can contribute to our team in a variety of ways.* ## **Salary and Benefits** As a small and growing government contractor, our open roles are tied to the contracts we support and the funding available. We aim to offer compensation that’s competitive and fair, reflecting the scope of the role, your experience, and the market. The salary for this position is: **$158,804.** Our benefits are designed to support sustainable, high-quality work and a healthy life outside of it. We value autonomy and trust, and we encourage teammates to take the time they need to rest, recharge, and show up at their best. **Benefits include:** - Competitive salary - 401(k) with employer matching - 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees - Flexible PTO - Paid federal holidays - Paid parental leave - Sick time and wellness days ## **Hiring Practices** Intuitial is an Equal Opportunity employer.
