Job description
The Senior Project Manager, Construction leads the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale or complex construction and capital improvement projects. This role serves as the senior client-facing lead on high-visibility projects, mentors junior project management staff, and helps set the standard for project delivery within the market. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** - Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale or complex construction and capital improvement projects. - Develop and manage multi-million dollar project budgets and schedules, proactively identifying and mitigating risk. - Serve as the senior client-facing representative, building and maintaining trust with owners, tenants, and capital partners. - Direct the selection, contracting, and performance management of architects, engineers, and general contractors. - Negotiate complex contracts, change orders, and dispute resolutions. - Mentor and provide guidance to Project Managers, Associate Project Managers, and Project Coordinators. - Present project status, budget, and risk updates to senior leadership and clients. - Ensure compliance with entitlements, permitting, and all applicable codes and regulations. - Oversee project closeout, commissioning, and transition to property management. - Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. **Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field required; advanced degree a plus. - 8+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction project management, including large or complex projects. - Demonstrated success managing multi-million dollar budgets and cross-functional project teams. - Strong knowledge of construction law, contracts, and risk management. - Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members. - Excellent executive-level communication and presentation skills. - Established relationships with contractors, consultants, and vendors within assigned markets. - Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. **Physical Requirements** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
