Senior Recruiter

Job description

#### About CoLab At CoLab, we help mechanical engineering teams bring life-changing products to market years sooner. We build AI for engineers designing cars, medical devices, and jet engines. Products this complex aren't sketched and sent to production. Teams spend months on iterations, reviews, and tests, predicting how every part performs before anything is built. CoLab is where those reviews happen, and we capture the rationale behind every change. Other tools show what changed between versions. Only CoLab knows why. That's how our AI helps manufacturers like Bobcat, Triumph Motorcycles, and GE Appliances make better decisions, eliminate rework cycles, and get to market faster. Proudly based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, CoLab started with one customer in 2018. Since then we’ve raised a [$72M Series C](https://financialpost.com/pmn/business-wire-news-releases-pmn/ai-is-changing-engineering-colab-just-raised-72m-to-lead-the-transformation), been named the 57th fastest growing company in North America by Deloitte ([Fast 500™](https://financialpost.com/pmn/business-wire-news-releases-pmn/colab-ranked-number-57-fastest-growing-company-in-north-america-on-the-2025-deloitte-technology-fast-500)), signed multi-year [AI partnerships with companies like Bombardier](https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-bombardier-signs-contract-colab-ai-software/), and grown to a team of 250+. ### **About the Role** The next stage of CoLab's growth depends on bringing exceptional people into the business, quickly and thoughtfully. We're looking for a Senior Recruiter who can make that happen. You'll own full-cycle recruiting across our GTM and R&D teams, with a heavier focus on GTM roles spanning Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Solutions Engineering. One week you might be closing an Enterprise Account Executive while building a pipeline for a specialized technical role the next. This isn't a role where you wait for hiring managers to tell you what to do. You'll be their talent partner: shaping hiring strategies, challenging assumptions, bringing market insights, and keeping searches moving. You'll balance multiple priorities without losing track of the details, and you'll know when to move quickly, when to push back, and when to hold the bar. ### **Our Ideal Candidate** You're an experienced recruiter who combines urgency with exceptional organization. You can manage several searches at different stages, keep candidates engaged, and ensure hiring managers always know where things stand, without needing to be asked. You're comfortable advising senior stakeholders, not just taking their requests. If a hiring process is moving too slowly or expectations don't match the talent market, you speak up and propose a better approach. You care about candidate experience, communicate with honesty and respect, and take pride in finding people who will thrive at CoLab. If you prefer a predictable workload, need constant direction, or rely primarily on inbound applicants, this probably isn't the right role. ### **Job Responsibilities** - Own full-cycle recruitment across GTM and R&D, from intake and sourcing through offer acceptance. - Build strong, diverse talent pipelines through proactive sourcing and thoughtful candidate engagement. - Partner with hiring managers to define successful profiles, calibrate expectations, and develop effective hiring strategies. - Manage multiple searches simultaneously with exceptional organization, clear priorities, and consistent follow-through. - Drive hiring velocity by identifying bottlenecks, improving processes, and keeping candidates and stakeholders moving. - Run structured assessments that maintain CoLab's high talent bar and deliver a positive candidate experience. - Use recruiting data and market insights to advise hiring managers and improve hiring outcomes. ### **Qualifications** - Extensive full-cycle recruiting experience, including significant experience hiring GTM talent in B2B SaaS. - Experience recruiting across multiple functions; comfort navigating technical roles is important. - Strong direct sourcing skills and a track record of engaging passive candidates. - Exceptional organizational skills and experience managing competing hiring priorities. - Ability to build trusted relationships, influence hiring decisions, and provide constructive pushback. - Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and a bias toward action. ### **Extra Details** - **Compensation:** Full-time, permanent position with competitive compensation and stock options. - **Benefits:** In Canada, extended health benefits, unlimited paid vacation, and RRSP matching. In the USA, health and dental insurance covered at 100% for employees, 401k matching, and unlimited PTO. - **Location:** Remote opportunities across Canada and the USA, with a main office in St. John's, NL. - **Travel:** Periodic travel for team and recruiting events. Frequently cited statistics show that people who identify with historically marginalized groups are likely to apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. We encourage you to help us break that statistic and apply even if you don’t meet every single qualification—your potential is what matters most to us.
