Job description
**This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Developer I - Full Stack based in United States.** The Senior Software Developer I - Full Stack will provide technical leadership across the design, development, and delivery of modern digital solutions. You will work across the full stack, building responsive front-end experiences and scalable back-end services using modern JavaScript and TypeScript technologies. The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic decision-making, architecture, mentoring, and close stakeholder collaboration. You will help shape solutions using React, Next.js, Node.js, cloud-native services, APIs, and emerging AI capabilities. A key focus will be applying AI-assisted development thoughtfully while maintaining strong standards for security, reliability, accessibility, and code quality. You will work directly with clients and cross-functional teams to translate complex technical concepts into practical, high-impact solutions. This is an opportunity to contribute to high-visibility projects while helping evolve engineering practices and emerging technology capabilities. ### Accountabilities - Collaborate with management, product, and design teams to shape development strategy, technical vision, and the responsible adoption of AI-powered tools and workflows. - Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams delivering high-impact full-stack JavaScript and TypeScript solutions aligned with client and business objectives. - Contribute to modern application architectures using React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, cloud-native services, and API ecosystems. - Maintain broad technical awareness across cloud platforms, AI/ML integrations, APIs, and related technologies to support effective system integration. - Design, develop, and maintain responsive front-end applications and scalable back-end services across the full software stack. - Lead iterative, outcome-focused development using deep knowledge of the JavaScript and TypeScript ecosystems. - Design and integrate RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints, as well as emerging AI-enabled capabilities such as LLM workflows, intelligent document processing, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation. - Diagnose complex technical issues across owned systems, implement effective solutions, and use incidents as opportunities for system and process improvements. - Make critical technical decisions that keep projects on track while adapting solutions to evolving client requirements. - Evaluate and integrate AI and ML capabilities responsibly where they can provide meaningful business or user value. - Mentor junior engineers and support their development across modern frameworks, software engineering practices, and AI-augmented development. - Build strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, partners, and other stakeholders. - Participate in technical interviews and contribute to evaluating engineering candidates. - Foster continuous learning around emerging technologies such as generative AI, prompt engineering, and agentic architectures. - Communicate technical issues, designs, and developments clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Present system designs, architecture diagrams, technical proposals, and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineering teams. - Serve as a primary technical lead and point of expertise when engaging with project stakeholders. - Improve engineering processes and practices, including the adoption of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and automated testing. - Evaluate alternative technical and process approaches using data-driven insights where appropriate. - Champion best practices in modern JavaScript development, cloud architecture, CI/CD, and responsible AI integration. - Lead small, temporary, or lower-risk project or team structures when required. **Requirements** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, combined with 7+ years of software engineering experience. - 5+ years of professional JavaScript or TypeScript development across the full stack. - Strong experience building modern, responsive front-end applications with React and/or Next.js. - Proficiency with Node.js and server-side JavaScript frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or comparable technologies. - Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services. - Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies. - Strong full-stack troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose complex technical issues. - Proficiency with Git and modern CI/CD workflows. - Experience using AI-assisted development tools and the ability to validate AI-generated outputs through sound engineering judgment. - Prior experience with government contracting is preferred. - Experience working within Agile development methodologies is preferred. - Familiarity with accessibility standards such as Section 508 and WCAG, particularly in government environments, is a plus. - Ability to obtain a Public Trust or low-level security clearance. - Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident and authorized to work domestically. - Must be able to work from within the United States and, due to the nature of the work, from the contiguous United States. - Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to take ownership of technical work, make sound decisions, and balance independent execution with collaborative problem-solving. **Benefits** - Competitive salary ranging from $130,000 to $200,000+ depending on role requirements, experience, and demonstrated impact. - Performance-based bonus opportunities. - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. -
