We inv ented the modern air conditioning, and our team of pioneers and innovators have a long histor y of developing new technologies . Addvolt , now part of Carrier, global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, delivers advanced electrification technology, integrated power management and power electronics capabilities for transport refrigeration and auxiliary systems. Driving innovation in the electrification and decarbonization of onboard systems for refrigerated trailers, trucks, vans and containers, Addvolt empowers fleets to avoid fuel usage, reduce major emissions and operate efficiently at a remarkably low noise level. By combining Addvolt’s innovative power solutions with Carrier Transicold’s expertise in transport refrigeration, we are enhancing the value we deliver to fleets, original equipment manufacturers and logistics operators worldwide. Together with Carrier, we are accelerating the transition to a more sustainable, efficient and intelligent cold chain. YOUR MISSION As a Software Engineer at Addvolt, you will design, build and maintain the software that powers our connected, electrified fleet solutions — from device connectivity and data pipelines to the platforms our customers use every day. You will work across the full stack, collaborating closely with product, hardware and data teams to ship reliable, scalable features. Design, develop, test and maintain full-stack features across our platform (frontend, backend and APIs). Build and maintain cloud infrastructure and services on AWS (e.g. EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda), ensuring our systems are scalable, secure and cost-efficient. Work with data flowing from hardware devices (CAN, cellular/LTE, MQTT) through backend services and databases, all the way to the UI. Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements discussion, design, implementation, code review, testing, deployment and monitoring. Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and contribute to improving our engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines and system architecture. Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions. Troubleshoot, debug and resolve issues across the stack, including production incidents when needed. Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team. WHO YOU ARE Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience). Solid experience as a Software Engineer/Developer, with strong fundamentals in at least one backend language (e.g. Python, Node.js, Go) and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React). Mandatory, hands-on experience with AWS (e.g. EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM) — you are comfortable deploying, operating and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure in production. Experience with containerization (Docker) and comfortable working in Linux environments. Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, and with building and consuming REST/GraphQL APIs. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git) and software testing practices. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in IoT, connected devices and fleet/energy management domains. Good communication skills, comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, hardware, data). Ownership mindset — comfortable taking a feature from idea to production and supporting it afterwards. Fluent in English (written and spoken); Portuguese is a plus. NICE TO HAVE Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation). Exposure to data engineering/ETL pipelines or analytics platforms. Experience with IoT protocols (MQTT, CAN) or embedded/connected device integrations. Experience with Figma or similar tools for UI collaboration. WHAT WE OFFER The opportunity to build software that powers real-world, cutting-edge automation and electrification technology, in a fast-growing, mission-driven company. A collaborative, technical environment where you'll work closely with hardware, product and data experts every day. Ownership over meaningful features and real opportunity for technical growth. Competitive compensation package, aligned with experience. Flexible working model. Our Commitment Our greatest assets are the expertise , creativity, and passion of our employees.
