Senior Software Engineer (Monitor Ingestion team)

Job description

At Sysdig, we believe cloud security isn't a compromise - it's a promise. From the start, our mission has been clear: to help organizations secure innovation in the cloud, the right way. We created Falco, the open standard for cloud threat detection, and continue to lead the cloud security market with runtime insights, open innovation, and agentic Al. Creators of technology trusted by over 60% of the Fortune 500, Sysdig gives teams the real-time clarity to move fast and defend what matters most. Culture matters here. We believe diversity fuels stronger ideas, and open dialogue drives sharper decisions. Recognized as a Best Place to Work and one of Deloitte's fastest-growing companies for the past 5 years, we're here to raise the standard for what cloud security and workplace culture should be. If you have the passion to dig deeper, the desire to challenge convention, and the curiosity to build something better, Sysdig is the right place for you. ### What you will do - You will join a cross-functional team that owns metrics collection and ingestion end to end, from the agent running on customer hosts and Kubernetes nodes to ingestion and processing in the Sysdig backend. - Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will solve performance, scalability and correctness problems across the whole pipeline. - You will lead technical design for features across the agent and backend, and collaborate with product and design on specifications and timelines. - You will be part of a team whose main goal is to work together to build the best product we can. We enjoy what we do and we always aim to get better. - You will take part in an on-call rotation to handle urgent issues. ### What you will bring with you - Advanced coding skills, with 5+ years of professional experience in at least one of Rust, Go or C/C++, and willingness to learn and work across different technologies. - Solid systems-programming background: Linux internals, processes, control groups, networking and file I/O. Experience with eBPF, kernel-level instrumentation or container runtimes (containerd, CRI-O, Docker) is a strong plus. - Experience building performance-sensitive software that runs on customer infrastructure: resource-bounded, robust to partial failures, and safe to run privileged. - Familiarity with distributed systems: horizontally scalable services, and/or event-driven architectures. - Familiarity with observability tools and telemetry is highly desirable. - Familiarity with Kubernetes is a strong plus. Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus. ### What we look for - Collaboration: The ability to excel in a cross-team environment, contributing to both technical and product discussions. - Growth Mindset: A willingness to participate in professional development to stay current with industry trends. - Communication: Fluency in English. ### When you join Sysdig, you can expect - Extra days off to prioritize your well-being - Mental health support for you and your family through the Modern Health app - Great compensation package
