Senior Strategic Corporate Analyst

### ABOUT onX We’re a team of builders, adventurers, and risk takers using technology to help people confidently explore the outdoors. Driven by our mission to awaken the adventurer inside everyone, we build products that optimize every outdoor experience and inspire confidence to get out and go further. We’re a high-growth tech company. The pace is fast, the work takes grit, and ambiguity is part of the job. As the world changes around us, we adapt - continuously evolving how we build, prioritize, and deliver. Our business moves quickly, and there’s real opportunity to shape what we build next. Each of our verticals - Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, and Fish - is at a different stage of maturity, which means the challenges you encounter and the impact you have will vary depending on where you sit and what the business needs most. We operate with an experimentation mindset, continually iterating and improving how we solve problems. We expect our people to use the latest tooling, including AI, thoughtfully and responsibly, pairing human judgment with technology to increase quality, speed, and impact. Our impact comes to life through the products we build, in the stories of our customers, and in our growing commitment to land stewardship and recreational access. ### ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY In the role of **Senior Strategic Corporate Analyst**, you will serve as a high-impact analytical resource for onX's most senior leaders. Rather than supporting a specific product vertical, you will work directly at the direction of the CEO, CFO, and Senior Director of FP&A on the company's most complex, ambiguous, and consequential financial and strategic questions. You will operate at the intersection of finance and data — with the technical depth to pull and interrogate data independently and the business acumen to translate findings into clear narratives that shape executive decision-making. ### WHAT YOU'LL DO *Essential Job Duties & Functions* - Lead end-to-end analysis on special and ad hoc projects assigned by the CEO, CFO, and Senior Director of FP&A — with a primary focus on operational and business performance across the company, identifying trends and anomalies, constructing a narrative, and delivering clear recommendations. - Perform analysis and financial modeling to evaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities, new business lines, pricing strategies, operational investments, etc. - Manage ad-hoc projects that include areas of analysis such as market sizing, scenario modeling, long-term strategic opportunity assessment, etc., as directed. - Develop and stress-test business cases for major strategic initiatives, providing leadership with a grounded view of expected returns and key assumptions. - Independently source, extract, and manipulate data from multiple internal and external sources — operating as a self-sufficient analytical resource (including Tableau, Pitchbook, Amplitude, etc.) - Partner with internal stakeholders on analysis, data trends, and unsolved business problems. ### WHAT YOU’LL BRING - Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related analytical field. - Six (6) or more years of experience in finance, strategy, investment banking, management consulting, or a related analytical function. - Strong financial modeling capabilities, including scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, DCF, and ROI frameworks. - Experience working directly with or embedded near a Business Intelligence or data engineering function. - Experience evaluating M&A opportunities and/or conducting deep strategic business and market analysis, including market sizing, competitive analysis, and investment or growth opportunity assessment. - Demonstrated ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments with minimal direction, structuring problems from scratch and driving to actionable conclusions. - Exceptional written communication skills — onX is a document-driven company, and you will regularly produce narrative-format analyses and recommendations for senior leadership. - Proven comfort presenting complex analyses to C-suite and senior executives, including handling pushback and adapting on the fly. - A desire to learn and actively leverage AI tools to improve analytical speed and quality. - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously. - Experience in a B2C SaaS or subscription business is strongly preferred. - Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX. - A shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onX’s Company Values ### ADDED BONUSES Though not required, we would be thrilled to consider candidates with any of the following: - MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field - M&A, corporate development, or investment banking experience - SQL proficiency — you are comfortable writing complex queries, joining multiple data sources, and extracting insights independently from large datasets. - Strong preference will be given to those located in Salt Lake, Missoula, or Bozeman, areas where other finance employees are concentrated. ### THE ONX EXPERIENCE onX is a distributed company with more than 400 employees across the country. We come together regularly to work in person and stay connected through regional basecamps and a culture that balances individual ownership with deep collaboration. While we move quickly, we’re not a scrappy start-up. We operate with clear goals, structure, and frameworks that guide how we prioritize and execute. Priorities matter. While they may shift, data shapes how we evolve as our business, products, and the world around us change. Clear priorities and structure don’t limit ownership - they make it possible. You’ll have the autonomy to define your work and make meaningful decisions within clear strategic boundaries. You’ll partner closely with others to solve complex problems and build solutions that scale across teams and platforms. Along the way, you’ll be supported with feedback, tools, and opportunities to grow your craft as you take on new challenges. ### WHERE YOU CAN WORK onX is a distributed company with employees across the U.S. We have physical offices in Bozeman and Missoula, MT, along with virtual workforce “Basecamps” in Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA. Basecamps are not physical offices; they are geographic hubs made up of remote employees who live within a 60-mile radius of the city center, creating opportunities for local connection and collaboration. **Preference will be given to applicants based in the greater Salt Lake City area for this role, as this is where most of onX's Finance team is located.** Candidates who live elsewhere in the U.S. may still be considered, provided they reside in a state where onX is currently able to employ team members.
