**Job Summary:** We are seeking a **Senior Systems Administrator** with deep expertise in **VMware virtualization technologies** to support, maintain, and enhance our enterprise infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security across virtualized environments, while serving as a technical escalation point and mentor to junior team members. **Active Top Secret or Interim Top Secret clearance required.** ### Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) - Manage and optimize virtual infrastructure performance, capacity, and availability - Administer Windows and/or Linux server environments in virtualized settings - Perform system upgrades, patching, backups, and disaster recovery planning/testing - Monitor system health and proactively troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues - Support storage and networking components related to virtualization (SAN/NAS, VLANs, NIC teaming) - Implement and maintain security best practices, access controls, and system hardening - Collaborate with IT leadership, application teams, and vendors on infrastructure initiatives - Serve as a technical escalation resource for system-related incidents and outages - Document system configurations, procedures, and operational standards - Mentor junior administrators and contribute to process improvements
