Senior Technical Product Manager, AI

Job description

We're hiring a Senior Product Manager, AI Platform to own and scale Ask Teamworks and the shared platform behind AI experiences across our product suite. Teamworks builds the operating system for elite sports organizations. Every NFL, NHL and Premier League club uses it, along with 99% of NCAA Division I athletic departments. Across more than 20 products, we hold the data and workflows that matter most to coaches, scouts, GMs, athletic trainers, performance staff and operators. This is a build-and-scale role with ownership of both the platform and the customer experience. Ask Teamworks is already in beta in two products with dozens of customers each. You'll help take those agents to general availability, enable product teams to build against shared standards, and turn cross-product data into trusted workflows. An agent orchestrating across our product suite can act on the following: “*We’re deciding whether to extend John’s contract or to pursue the two portal targets at his position. Compare their on-field production and projected value, our player’s availability and load/injury history over the last two seasons, and how his role in our scheme has changed. Speak in $’s, not just words. Prepare the contract(s) for the recommended option, and any supporting evidence/reports for our head coach.*” # The Role - Lead the rollout and expansion of AI agents across Teamworks' product portfolio, partnering with product teams to move from beta to general availability and scale adoption across sports and global markets. - Partner with Product and Engineering to define shared platform capabilities, technical standards and integration requirements that enable teams to build consistent, reliable AI experiences. - Own the development of AI-powered workflows that connect data and actions across products, helping customers move from insights to action while maintaining appropriate permissions and user confirmation. - Define and manage AI quality standards, including evaluation datasets, success criteria and automated regression testing, to ensure new capabilities are ready for release and remain reliable as they evolve. - Expand agentic capabilities beyond conversational assistants into product-embedded agent actions, dashboards, integrations with customers' AI tools and proactive alerts, prioritizing opportunities that deliver meaningful customer value. - Collaborate with go-to-market teams to shape usage measurement, customer allowances and product packaging, and provide clear visibility into which AI capabilities are available to each customer. - Drive alignment across product, engineering and commercial teams without direct authority, balancing customer needs, technical dependencies and responsible handling of sensitive athlete data. # What We're Looking For ### What You Must Bring - 5+ years of software engineering or technical PM experience building production systems, before or alongside moving into product - A track record of shipping an LLM-based or agentic product to real users, with evidence of adoption or customer value - Product ownership experience in B2B SaaS, vertical AI, platform or developer products, with experience coordinating across products and functions - The technical fluency to influence architecture, data flows, retrieval, tool calling, permissions and production failure modes - Hands-on AI evaluation experience, including datasets, rubrics, regression testing, human review and release thresholds - Experience driving a shared platform or standard across teams without direct authority - The ability to connect customer workflows, technical decisions and product priorities, with a focus on making teams faster and building products customers trust enough to use every day ### Even Better If - You have three or more years of experience as a backend, platform, data or distributed-systems engineer - You've recently worked hands-on with MCP, agent frameworks such as Mastra, or prototypes you built yourself - You have experience with permissions for sensitive data, including health records, PII, or with usage-based pricing - You have subject-matter expertise in American football, soccer, hockey or basketball # Why This Role The challenge is making AI work across six-plus sports, three regions and both central and embedded product experiences. Each product team builds its own AI tools, while a small platform team owns the shared contracts and evaluation system that make those tools work together. You'll combine platform leadership with hands-on building within individual products, helping teams put the platform into practice. You'll think like an engineer and decide like a product leader, moving from a coach's Monday workflow to a tool schema to a roadmap decision. The shared athlete identity and permission systems are being built now, so some ideas will need to wait. A wrong answer about an athlete's health has real consequences. This role calls for judgment about what to build, what to defer and when an experience is ready for customers to trust. *This role is not eligible for sponsorship at this time.* *Please submit your application through this posting only. We're unable to review applications or resumes sent via email, LinkedIn, or other channels.* *To all recruitment agencies: Teamworks does not accept agency resumes. Please do not forward resumes to our jobs alias, Teamworks employees or any other organization location. Teamworks is not responsible for any fees related to unsolicited resumes.* # About Teamworks We're the Operating System for Sports™, powering 7,000+ organizations worldwide, from collegiate programs to every major pro league.
