Business Function Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels. Job Objectives To lead and manage the Cash Operations by constantly reviewing the supporting process for Cash related products and services at an efficient and cost-effectiveness manner; and ensuring adherence to established procedures and performance standards in terms of output quality and turnaround time. Principal Responsibilities Direct and manage the overall operations of Payment Operations, Payment Investigation, Transaction Screening & Operation Support, and IBG Branch Operations Lead, prepare and control annual budgets of the supervised departments Cultivate the mindset of the members with particular emphasis on cost effectiveness, customer services oriented, and operational controls Coach and develop subordinates and provide guidance in completing assignments Lead and develop work plan of the supervised departments in alignment with the strategic objectives of the Unit and the Banking Group Accountable and ensure the tasks of the units are completed within specified standards of quality, agreed service level, turnaround time and industry cut-off time Manage working relationships with other service partners to ensure that a seamless process flow for applications Provide advices to management and service partners on processes that are affected by changes in the business environment Recommend, lead and implement appropriate actions in response to regulatory and related developments that impact operation guidelines Provide direction by setting performance targets for staff and monitor actual performance against targets Manage productivity by accurate measurement and review regularly to ensure appropriate resources distribution using Management Toolkit (“MTK”) Coach and develop subordinates and guide them in completing their assignment Adhere, provide guidance and ensure the staff / departments comply with the rules, guidelines and regulatory requirement of the Bank, HKMA, MAS, etc pertaining to the operations Cultivate the mindset of the members with strong Risk and Control mindset Escalate exceptional/outstanding/suspicious transactions to Head of HK IBG Ops and other relevant parties for necessary follow up action per the T&O Significant Incident Notification Protocol Guideline Key Accountabilities Managing a team of 70+ people in Hong Kong Execution of annually established goals Agreed Key Performance Indicators annually (KPI) Lead and execute Group and HK strategic projects Strong Partnership with Business units Relevant Experience Minimum 15 years’ in payment processing for corporate banking products/services experience and 10 years in senior management experience Experienced in supervising and managing an operation team of more than 50 staff Good understanding on all aspects operations and relevant regulatory and compliance requirements Functional / Technical Competencies Functional Competencies Sound leadership skills with ability to strive people excellence and think strategically in the pursuit of Bank’s direction Possess strong domain expertise in cash management products Strong ability to influence people to adopt “customer focus” mindset Excellent communication skills with all levels of colleagues Result oriented Strong ability to promote team collegiality and effectiveness Technical Competencies Solid banking operations experience and knowledge of modern technology such as AI (GenAI and Agentic AI) Sound knowledge and understanding of banking and IT operations and practices Good in both written and spoken English Good communication and presentation skills Excellent PC knowledge and skills Strong Risk and Control awareness Education and Professional Qualification University Degree Holder in Finance or equivalent subject Apply Now We offer a competitive salary and benefits package and the professional advantages of a dynamic environment that supports your development and recognises your achievements.
