Senior Video Editor

Job description

## **About Phoenix** Founded in 2019, Phoenix is building the most trusted telehealth platform in Canada, making specialist healthcare accessible to every Canadian, wherever they are. Our platform breaks down barriers to care, empowering patients to take control of their health with personalized treatment options and the guidance of licensed providers. If you thrive where big ideas turn into real impact, you'll fit right in here. We're a team of creative problem-solvers who move deliberately and collaborate in person, because we think the best work happens that way. At Phoenix, you'll find autonomy over your work, people who care about each other's success, and a mission that's making healthcare better for Canadians. # **What we're looking for** We're looking for an experienced, creatively driven Senior Video Editor to lead the quality, consistency, and evolution of our video editing across Phoenix and Raven. In this role, you'll own the overall look, feel, and execution of our post-production work, setting creative standards, mentoring editors, and developing workflows that help us produce high-performing content at scale. You'll be both a hands-on editor and a creative leader, with a strong understanding of what makes video content engaging, particularly within DTC, paid social, and UGC-style advertising. You know how to turn raw footage into compelling stories, capture attention in the first few seconds, and use performance insights to continuously improve the work. We're looking for someone who brings strong creative instincts, technical expertise, and the ability to elevate the people and processes around them. # **What you’ll do:** - Own and evolve the overall editing style, visual storytelling, and post-production standards across Phoenix and Raven brands. - Lead, coach, and mentor the video editing team, providing clear creative direction, actionable feedback, and ongoing skill development. - Review edits across the team to ensure creative quality, brand consistency, and alignment with performance objectives. - Develop editing guidelines, templates, and best practices that improve consistency, quality, and efficiency across both brands. - Hands-on editing of compelling, high-performing video ads and content across Meta, TikTok, and other digital platforms. - Collaborate closely with Creative Strategists and the production team to translate briefs and footage into engaging, goal-driven video assets. - Apply a strong understanding of performance creative principles, including hooks, pacing, storytelling, retention, and conversion. - Lead the development and testing of new editing styles, formats, and storytelling approaches to continuously improve creative performance. - Own the post-production process from footage handoff through final delivery, ensuring projects meet creative standards, timelines, and technical requirements. - Establish and maintain efficient editing workflows, file organization, version control, and asset management practices. - Ensure the team maintains high standards for technical execution, including audio, colour, motion graphics, captions, and platform-specific formatting. # **What you’ll bring:** - 5+ years of professional video editing experience, ideally within DTC, e-commerce, performance marketing, or a fast-paced creative agency. - A strong portfolio demonstrating compelling storytelling, creative versatility, and experience editing short-form, social-first video content. - Experience mentoring, coaching, or reviewing the work of other editors, with the ability to provide clear, constructive creative feedback. - Highly advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar post-production tools. - Excellent organizational skills, with experience managing editing workflows, project files, versioning, and multiple concurrent deliverables. - Familiarity with AI-powered editing tools and an interest in integrating emerging technologies into post-production workflows. - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across creative strategy, production, and marketing teams. - The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-output environment while maintaining a high standard of creative quality. **Nice to have** - Motion graphics and animation skills in After Effects. - Experience working with healthcare, wellness, or other regulated industries. - Experience using AI-powered video generation, editing, or automation tools in a professional creative workflow. # **Why Work at Phoenix?** - **A Rewarding Mission:** Through our asynchronous care model, Phoenix is reimagining patient-centric care for Canadians across the country by making diagnoses and treatment delivery faster, more accessible, and completely discreet. - **Impact & Autonomy:** You’ll work directly with passionate, experienced leaders who’ve seen the ups and downs of building a business and genuinely care about your growth. You won’t just execute — you’ll help shape the future of Phoenix and Raven. - **Collaborative On-Site Culture:** Our Operations, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams work together on-site from our downtown Toronto HQ. We thrive on quick feedback loops, spontaneous brainstorms, and actually knowing the people we work with. Bonus points if you're into the occasional foosball tournament or have strong opinions about the best lunch spot nearby. - **Clinical Excellence:** All Phoenix & Raven telehealth clinicians work remotely, providing the highest quality care for even the most sensitive of health topics. Medications are delivered directly (and discreetly) to patients via our pharmacy warehouses, where our diligent Pharmacy team packages each treatment with care. - **Competitive Pay, Real Benefits:** Our compensation bands are backed by real market data, so offers are competitive and fair. Our benefits package includes standard healthcare coverage, a remote-first holiday season, and holistic wellbeing support for when life just happens. *Phoenix is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
