Job description
**Schedule: Mon-Fri 6:15am-2:45pm, occasional Saturdays as needed** The Shipping Associate is responsible for handling, packaging, and shipping finished goods and materials in a USDA-inspected food manufacturing facility. This role ensures timely and accurate movement of products while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. ### Duties/Responsibilities: - Print labels - Label boxes - Scan boxes into system - Weigh finished pallets and document for BOL’s - Handle and move packaged goods safely and efficiently. - Build and ship sample and customer orders according to specifications. - Perform general cleaning and maintain a sanitary work environment. - Receive and ship products using proper handling techniques and computer entry systems. - Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation. - Operate basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks); forklift experience is a plus. - Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents to management. - Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management. ### Required Skills/Abilities: - Ability to speak, read, and understand English. - Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. - Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); inventory experience is a plus. - Good organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (45–55°F) for the entire shift. - Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift. - Knowledge of product safety and food handling standards preferred. ### Education and Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is a plus. - Forklift certification is a plus but not required. ### Working Conditions: - Work is performed in a cold, fast-paced production and warehouse environment. - Requires physical activity including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. - May require overtime or weekend shifts depending on operational needs. - Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
