# Shopify Web Developer > Pavago · Colombia (Remote) · — · Posted 2026-09-18 **Workplace:** remote **Department:** Candidate Sourcing ## Description Shopify Web Developer **Position Type:** Part-Time, Remote **Working Hours:** U.S. Time-Zone Hours ### About the Role We are looking for an experienced Shopify Web Developer to build, maintain, and optimize custom Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts across multiple e-commerce brands. This is a hands-on development role focused on Shopify Liquid, front-end development, responsive UI/UX, performance optimization, SEO, and Shopify app integrations. You’ll work closely with the development and strategy teams while using modern AI-assisted tools to improve development efficiency and quality. ### What You’ll Own **Shopify Development** - Build, maintain, and continuously improve custom Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts. - Work across sectioned and non-sectioned themes using Shopify Liquid. - Write clean, production-ready code without relying on page builders. - Own development tasks from implementation through deployment. **Front-End Development** - Translate designs into pixel-perfect, responsive, mobile-first experiences. - Use advanced CSS, CSS animations, media queries, JavaScript, and jQuery. - Ensure consistent visual quality and functionality across browsers and devices. **Shopify Apps & Integrations** - Research and evaluate Shopify apps based on specific business requirements. - Install, configure, and manage Shopify app integrations. - Troubleshoot and resolve integration-related issues. **Performance & SEO** - Proactively identify and resolve website performance issues. - Optimize images, code, and front-end assets to improve site speed. - Build SEO-friendly pages and implement JSON schema and structured data where appropriate. **AI-Assisted Development** - Use tools such as **Cursor, Claude, and similar AI platforms** to accelerate development. - Apply AI tools thoughtfully to improve productivity and code quality. - Share useful AI workflows and techniques with the team. **Collaboration & Ownership** - Work closely with the Head of Development and brand strategists. - Identify issues proactively and recommend practical solutions. - Communicate progress, blockers, and timelines clearly. - Contribute to knowledge sharing and cross-training within the team. ### Required Experience & Skills - 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining Shopify storefronts. - Strong experience with Shopify and Shopify Plus. - Advanced proficiency in Shopify Liquid. - Strong command of CSS, CSS animations, media queries, JavaScript, and jQuery. - Experience creating and manipulating JSON schema for Shopify themes and structured data. - Strong debugging skills using browser developer tools across multiple browsers and devices. - Experience building responsive, mobile-first storefronts. - Familiarity with Cursor, Claude, or similar AI-assisted development tools. - A portfolio demonstrating polished Shopify storefronts, preferably for consumer brands. ### What Makes You a Strong Fit - You proactively identify issues and take ownership of solving them. - You’re comfortable working independently in a remote environment. - You communicate clearly about progress, blockers, and timelines. - You’re receptive to feedback and continuously look for ways to improve. - You stay current with Shopify, front-end development, and AI-assisted development tools. - You enjoy sharing knowledge and helping teammates improve their workflows. ### What Success Looks Like - Shopify storefronts are visually polished, responsive, and reliable. - Development work is delivered efficiently with clean, maintainable code. - Performance, SEO, and mobile experience are consistently considered. - Technical issues are identified and resolved proactively. - Shopify apps and integrations are implemented effectively. - AI tools are used thoughtfully to improve development efficiency. - Stakeholders have clear visibility into progress and potential blockers. ### Interview Process 1.
