Short-Form Content Strategist

Job description

Title : Short-Form Content Strategist Department : Content Location : Remote About CoinPoker Welcome to CoinPoker, the innovative crypto-poker platform where advanced blockchain technology meets the thrilling world of online poker. At CoinPoker, we are revolutionizing the poker experience by offering fast, secure, and transparent gameplay. With recent substantial investment, we are poised to take over the online crypto-poker space and are expanding our team to support our growth. The Opportunity In this role you will drive the structure, optimization, and performance of our short-form content day to day. The goal is to expand reach, sustain engagement, build reusable formats, and ensure performance data drives clear creative direction. The role requires strong poker knowledge and audience psychology to shape hooks, pacing, and where the payoff lands based on both in-game dynamics and why viewers stop, stay, share, and follow. Key Responsibilities: Lead the day-to-day structural direction of short-form content, reviewing individual reels and shorts as they are produced and briefing editors and creatives on hooks, retention structure, payoff placement, pacing, and platform-native formatting. Apply a strong understanding of poker and audience psychology to content selection and structure, identifying which hands and moments carry genuine tension, drama, or humour, and grounding structural decisions in why viewers stop scrolling, watch, share, and follow. Develop and refine repeatable content formats with demonstrated performance, and make the case for format investment and retirement based on performance data. Run a weekly performance review of published short-form content at the individual content level, covering reach, hook retention, watch-through, and shares and saves per reach, and publish a written iteration summary translating learnings into updated briefing standards. Raise the structural standard of the editing team over time through consistent feedback, documented best practices, and worked examples of what performs and why. Identify top organic content and flag boost candidates to performance marketing; support the creative, CRM, and ambassador teams on campaigns and partner content. Monitor platform algorithm changes, emerging formats, and competitor activity, sharing relevant findings and best practices with the team. Highly Desired Knowledge and Experience: Proven track record of growing short-form audiences, whether for a brand, a publisher, or your own channel, with the numbers to show for it and the ability to explain the structural decisions behind them. Strong understanding of poker, with the ability to read a hand and recognise what makes a spot dramatic, compelling, or funny to a poker audience. Deep working knowledge of short-form performance metrics, including hook retention, watch-through, and shares and saves per reach, and experience running a test-and-iterate process against them. Ability to brief editors and creatives at the level of content structure, including hooks, pacing, and payoff placement, and to give feedback that measurably improves output. Strong grasp of audience psychology and platform mechanics, with the judgment to distinguish durable structural principles from short-lived trends. Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor, directing output through briefs and standards rather than direct reports. What We Offer: Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses. Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in the blockchain and online gaming industry. Flexible working hours and the ability to work fully remotely. A collaborative and inclusive team culture. Professional development opportunities and career growth within a rapidly evolving company.
