Sheladia Associates, Inc. is seeking qualified international and national Social Safeguards Specialists for a proposed transport and tourism infrastructure consulting assignment in Cambodia. The work will support project preparation, detailed engineering design, safeguards, and bidding documentation. This is a proposal-stage opportunity. Recruitment and engagement will be contingent upon a successful contract award to Sheladia and Client approval of the proposed experts. S/he will ensure adequate due diligence on the project social impacts consistent with the country’s social/gender and safeguard policies. S/he will be part of the DED and FS work and incorporate social safeguards / resettlement issues, which will help the FBLM EA in preparing documents for land acquisition and resettlement plan as well as the updates, support implementation and conduct internal monitoring. S/he will advise the FBLM EA’s PMU in dealing with land acquisition and resettlement, as well as provide capacity building as required. Postgraduate degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. At least 17 years of professional experience, including 12 years in social safeguards, social development, or involuntary resettlement on development partner-financed projects in developing countries.
