Social Worker - Looked After Children

Join a dedicated Looked After Children Team in Luton, supporting children and young people in care to achieve positive outcomes and long-term stability. You will build meaningful relationships, undertake statutory visits, and develop effective care plans that place the child at the centre of all decision-making.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support children and young people in care, ensuring they receive the stability, support and opportunities they need to achieve positive outcomes. You'll be joining a supportive team committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of Looked After Children.
• Develop and review care plans to meet the needs of children and young people.
• Undertake statutory visits and ensure all statutory responsibilities are met.
• Work closely with foster carers, residential providers, families and partner agencies.
• Prepare reports for reviews, court proceedings and care planning meetings.
• Promote permanence planning and positive outcomes for children in care.

Requirements

• Social Work England Registration.
• Qualified Social Worker status.
• Previous experience within Children's Social Care, ideally in Looked After Children, Court, Safeguarding or Care Planning teams.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
• Enhanced DBS.
