You’ll work closely with engineers, product owners and designers to ensure high-quality products and services for millions of users. This role has a particular focus on **backend and data quality**, so we’re looking for an experienced SDET with strong automation skills alongside hands-on experience testing **databases, SQL and modern data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks**. ## Responsibilities - Design, develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans and test cases across UI, API, backend and data systems. - Develop and execute **SQL-based testing and validation** to ensure data accuracy, integrity and consistency across systems. - Test and validate data pipelines, transformations and workflows across platforms such as **Snowflake and Databricks**. - Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers and cross-functional teams to define test coverage and quality goals early in the development lifecycle. - Build, maintain and scale robust automation frameworks for UI, API, backend and end-to-end testing. - Develop reusable test utilities, APIs and libraries to improve efficiency and consistency in automation. - Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks using technologies such as Python and Selenium. - Partner with infrastructure teams to design, implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines and quality gates. - Analyse test results and data, identify root causes of defects and work with development teams to drive timely resolution. - Continuously improve quality engineering practices by introducing new standards, tools and processes. - Advocate for a shift-left testing approach, embedding quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle. ## Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering or test automation. - 3+ years of hands-on experience with test automation across API, backend and/or UI systems. - **Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience testing and validating databases and data.** - **Experience working with Snowflake, Databricks or comparable modern data platforms.** - Experience testing **data pipelines, data transformations and/or ETL/ELT workflows**.
