Remilia is building a consumer social platform where the social graph, long-form content, real-time chat, and a virtual economy operate on a shared entity-relationship data model. We're looking for software engineers who care about craft, interesting engineering challenges and who want to work in a squad that owns its surface area end to end. Our stack is intentionally boring technology and a minimal dependency monorepo: Go, SQLite, TypeScript/React. **Responsibilities** You'll be working on identity services, user profiles, real-time chat, timeline-style content, friends/social graph, feed content algorithms, and admin and user dashboards. Your exact responsibilities will depend on your skill set and interests. We have multiple front-ends, Go services, IAM systems, generative AI features, content management systems, external APIs, a mobile app, 3rd-party app integrations, real-time events over websockets, media pipelines, and many other engineering areas to work on. **Good to have:** - A portfolio of interesting work you can walk through - Experience shipping things end to end - Founding-engineer or 0→1 experience on startup teams **Background or interest working in any of the following:** - Real-time systems (WebSockets, SSE) - Systems programming (C/C++/Rust/Zig) - Relational databases (data modeling, indexing, query design) - Media pipelines (upload, processing, delivery) - In-game social systems, chat, community, or UGC products **Us:** - Independent and well-capitalized - Engaged alpha user community - High-autonomy squads inside a growing org - Ambitious Xanadu/Semantic Web inspired vision **Benefits:** - Seed stage equity - Learning/health/culture stipends, PTO, health insurance - Creative studio environment All roles in-office (Irvine, California).
