Job description
Job Title: Spec, Quality Engrg Job Code: 43625 Job Location: Rochester, NY Job Schedule: 9/80 or 5/8 Job Description: L3Harris Tactical Communications is seeking a Specialist Supplier Quality Engineer to support our cables/connectors sourcing teams. Successful candidates will have a technical background with experience in electromechanical assembly and quality. This role requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with quality systems/tools including APQP, PPAP, and part qualification desired. Essential Functions: Colaborate with suppliers to reduce variability, increase reliability and ensure on-time delivery. Focus on problem prevention, supplier quality control, continuous improvement, and data reporting. Facilitate Part/Process Qualification through FAI and PPAP. Collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing for smooth transitions from concept to production. Willingness to travel (25% or more), primarily domestic. Position requires a minimum of a BS degree (Engineering or STEM) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Experience with cables and connectors. Experience in Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, Corrective & Preventive Action, and Root Cause Analysis. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state, is $73,000 to $135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
