Non Tenure Track, Benefits Eligible - This position is grant funded through 6/30/2027. Employment is contingent upon continued funding. The position is being filled through an emergency appointment. Appointment to the role on a permanent basis is contingent upon meeting additional recruitment requirements. The Specialist, Recruitment & Student Success role is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment, outreach, workforce engagement, and student success initiatives that support Nursing and Allied Health pathways for the WNC Rural Training Center in the Fallon service area and broader rural region. This position leads development, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of a structured pre-nursing preparation and student success program designed to support student readiness, persistence, competitiveness for admission, and successful transition into and through Nursing and Allied Health programs. The position develops systems, processes, communication strategies, cohort support activities, and outreach initiatives that strengthen recruitment, student engagement, academic preparation, persistence, and workforce pipeline development. The role serves as a primary point of contact for prospective students, employers, schools, healthcare organizations, and community partners and exercises independent judgment in coordinating outreach strategies, student success processes, cohort operations, and stakeholder engagement activities. Duties and Responsibilities: Recruitment, Outreach & Workforce Engagement • Develop and implement recruitment, outreach, and workforce engagement strategies supporting Nursing and Allied Health pathways in Fallon and the rural service area • Serve as the primary recruiter and outreach contact for Fallon-based Nursing and Allied Health programs • Develop and maintain relationships with school districts, healthcare organizations, employers, workforce agencies, educational partners, and community organizations • Conduct presentations, informational sessions, and outreach activities for schools, school boards, employers, healthcare providers, workforce groups, and community organizations • Represent the college and Nursing & Allied Health programs at recruitment events, workforce meetings, community events, and regional initiatives • Develop communication strategies, outreach materials, and engagement activities supporting awareness of healthcare career pathways and program opportunities • Coordinate communication and referrals between prospective students and appropriate college departments and personnel • Track recruitment, outreach, engagement, and participation data and support evaluation of recruitment and workforce development outcomes • Coordinate outreach and recruitment support activities related to new and existing Nursing and Allied Health programs • Coordinate the development of physical and digital marketing materials for the purposes of outreach in coordination with college marketing and communications staff Pre-Nursing Preparation & Student Success Program Coordination • Develop, implement, coordinate, and continuously improve a structured pre-nursing preparation and student success program designed to support readiness for nursing program admission and success in Nursing and Allied Health pathways • Develop systems, processes, curriculum, activities, communication plans, and support models that strengthen student readiness, persistence, engagement, and competitiveness for admission • Design and facilitate cohort workshops, learning activities, support strategies, and educational experiences focused on study skills, time management, academic planning, communication, professionalism, healthcare expectations, and student success strategies • Coordinate cohort schedules, timelines, participation processes, communication systems, and support activities • Establish student success benchmarks, tracking systems, progress monitoring processes, and intervention workflows • Monitor student academic progress, prerequisite completion, participation, engagement, and readiness indicators • Identify students requiring additional support and coordinate interventions, referrals, support plans, and success strategies as appropriate • Coordinate with faculty, advising, tutoring, Career Services, student services, and support departments to align student support strategies and strengthen persistence and completion outcomes • Support students transitioning into and through Nursing and Allied Health programs through coaching, problem-solving, resource navigation, and persistence support activities • Evaluate cohort effectiveness, student outcomes, participation data, and success initiatives and recommend improvements based on outcomes and feedback Pathway Development & Program Coordination • Support processes, development and implementation activities of Nursing pathway and workforce initiatives • Support communication and collaboration among faculty, employers, workforce partners, and community stakeholders • In coordination with the Nursing Pathways Coordinator, coordinate documentation, timelines, and operational processes associated with pathway development activities for the WNC Training Center • Support workforce alignment efforts by tracking employment trends, healthcare workforce needs, and educational pathway opportunities • For the WNC Training Center, facilitate communication among stakeholders involved in pathway and workforce development initiatives Professional Responsibilities & Student Navigation • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students interested in Fallon-based Nursing and Allied Health programs • Coordinate referrals and communication with advising, faculty, Site Director, Pathways Program Coordinator, Career Services, and student support departments • Maintain records, documentation, and reports associated with outreach, recruitment, cohort participation, and student success activities • Support accreditation preparation, regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance review activities • Maintain working knowledge of accreditation standards, state regulations, and program requirements applicable to assigned programs. • Develop positive collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, employers, schools, and community stakeholders • Promote a positive, inclusive, student-centered, and service-oriented strategies • Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making • Represent the college effectively in the community Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in education, healthcare, counseling, student services, workforce development, or related field AND three years of related professional experience in any combination of the following areas: teaching, training, student support, outreach, recruitment, advising, workforce development, coaching, or educational program coordination; AND experience facilitating workshops, group activities, presentations, or educational programming • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree (i.e., AA+4 years of related professional experience). A minimum of an Associates degree is required. The minimum of the placement range is $73,531.55. The selected candidate will be placed at or above the minimum based on education and experience.
