Sports Instructor

Job description

The YMCA of Greater Boston is searching for a Sports Instructor to lead a group of children and adults of all ages instructing sports classes. Classes are on weekday afternoons and weekend mornings. Candidate must possess excellent child/parent communication skills, expertise in a variety of sports and the ability to work independently. **Education & Experience**: 1. One to two years related experience preferred; for example, as an sports coach or volunteer. 2. CPR, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications, Child Abuse Prevention Training. These trainings are provided upon hire. **Skills & Competencies**: - Excellent relationship building and conflict resolution skills in order to facilitate positive relationships with parents, staff, children, and community partners. - Excellent coaching skills providing clear instruction, feedback and positive motivation. - Detail oriented, strong organizational and planning skills - Ability to manage small and large groups children and/or adults **Qualities Needed:** - Energetic, motivated and well organized individual who has a passion for children and sports.
