Job description
Position Overview: As the Staff Accountant you will be responsible for handling specific accounting duties for several company owned entities. Responsibilities: • AP processing for Bozzuto’s golf club, equestrian facility, and wedding and event venue • General accounting to support the Cheshire farmstand business • Recording journal entries • Preparing monthly reconciliations of all general ledger accounts • Ad hoc support for these businesses as requested by on-site operations managers and local controllers • Special projects focused on process evaluation and implementing improvements • Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality practices regarding company information • Prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously ensuring deadlines are met • Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership Environment: • Business office environment 65*F - 75*F Schedule: • Monday – Friday • Standard Business Hours • Location based in Farmington, CT with travel to subsidiaries in Avon, CT • Temporary Assignment - 6 months to begin Compensation: • $58,000 - $61,000 Experience: • Preferred: One (1) to Three (3) years’ experience in Accounting & knowledge of GAAP • Preferred: Bachelor’s Science degree in Accounting • Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace etc. • Preferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with leadership, customers and internal teams Skills: • Physical abilities: Ability to stand, walk and sit throughout your day; Walking on a variety of flooring including carpet, concrete, tile etc. • Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders • Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill executive directions in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines • Working in a team-based environment: Working independently and as a team player • Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards from all perspectives • Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies driving for accountability of safe practices
