Job description
The ‘Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering’ division at Fraunhofer ITWM focuses on the development and validation of modelling and simulation technology for the virtual product development of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and construction and agricultural machinery. To strengthen our team , we are looking for motivated, committed students who would like to contribute to the field of determining the mechanical parameters of cables and cable harnesses. Be part of change Production and preparation of test specimens: Fabricating and preparing cable specimens for measurement (e.g. cables/cable harnesses) Carrying out mechanical measurements: Measuring the effective stiffness of cables to replicate their real mechanical properties Documentation and evaluation of measurements: Careful record-keeping and analysis of measurement results in the context of the development of simulation methods and software What you contribute Currently studying engineering or natural sciences Good written and spoken German Proficiency in handling samples and measurement systems A structured and conscientious approach to work A meticulous and independent working style, reliability, flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team What we offer A wide range of tasks within a dedicated, international team of scientists fully committed to applied research Exciting research questions from the industrial sector A varied and stimulating role at the interface between research and application The weekly working time is between 8 and 10 hours.
