SUE Field Technician

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT), an employee-owned consultant engineering firm, is seeking an **SUE Field Technician** to join our Team in **Washington, DC** and add significant value to our company growth. Position can also be located in our **Rockville, MD office.** ### Responsibilities - Analyze and interpret complex utility records and prints - Travel to assigned work site and perform utility designation, (identifying and marking underground facilities) - Use electromagnetic locating equipment and follow the AMT designating process to ensure accurate and complete locates - Wear appropriate safety equipment and follow established safety practices and procedures established by management - Contact Senior SUE Tech when in need of assistance - Other duties assigned by management ### Qualifications - 1+ years of experience with SUE and/or private utility locating - Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and all types of field conditions - Physical demands include extensive walking and bending. The employee must have the ability to open manhole covers and or other structure of varying weights - Ability to work on a vacuum truck, perform maintenance, complete test holes and reports accordingly. Maintain all vac truck equipment and supplies - Ability to read and understand directional maps, topographic maps and various types of utility prints - Ability to use and interpret various pieces of electromagnetic utility locating equipment - Ability to multi-task, i.e. make research calls for one project while commuting to another project, coordinate with crew members on various jobs - Ability to work out-of-town on an as needed basis
