Southpaws Specialty, Emergency and Referral Hospital ECVS Surgical Residency – Commencing January 2027 Southpaws is one of Australasia’s leading veterinary specialty and emergency hospital groups. The Path to Specialisation Southpaws is proud to offer an ECVS-endorsed Surgical Residency – a structured, intensive three-year program designed for veterinarians ready to commit to the journey toward becoming a board-certified specialist surgeon. Southpaws has a long-standing and proud history with its residency program. To date, every resident who has completed the program has gone on to achieve specialisation. Working side-by-side with our experienced surgical specialists, you will manage complex referral cases, refine advanced techniques, and build the depth of knowledge and clinical judgement required for ECVS credentials. You will be supported through a comprehensive didactic and clinical training program that includes journal clubs, paper reviews, case presentations and formal mentorship – all structured to meet the rigorous standards of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons.
