Job description
Your mission As ANAVIA continues its rapid growth, we are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer who is eager to contribute to the future of unmanned aviation and take on the following key responsibilities: Define and maintain the top-level aircraft system architecture, ensuring cohesive integration of all subsystems. Perform functional decomposition of aircraft systems including avionics, propulsion, guidance & control, and payload integration. Develop and manage top-level system requirements with full traceability to subsystems and mission objectives. Provide oversight of Verification & Validation planning and execution, ensuring system-level requirements are verified and validated according to industry standards. Lead interface management between mechanical, avionics, software, and payload subsystems. Ensure regulatory compliance for UAV platforms, including SC Light UAS and other applicable standards. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, testing, and operations teams to ensure compliance requirements across the UAV development lifecycle. Guide and mentor junior system engineers, fostering a strong systems engineering culture. Maintain and update system engineering artifacts, including architecture models, interface control documents, requirement specifications, and design rationale. Participate in risk assessment, safety analysis, and airworthiness activities, ensuring robust and compliant system design. Your profile Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Experience: 10+ years of experience in aerospace or UAV systems engineering, with strong exposure in system architecture, requirements engineering, system decomposition, interface definition, requirements allocation, traceability, and Verification & Validation (V&V). Strong knowledge of the complete systems engineering lifecycle, from concept and system architecture through requirements definition, implementation, integration, verification, validation, and certification . Solid understanding of aviation certification and regulatory frameworks, with particular knowledge of EASA SC Light-UAS and/or CS-27 , depending on the applicable aircraft category. Good knowledge of aviation systems engineering and safety standards, particularly ARP4754A and ARP4761 , as well as relevant INCOSE / ISO 15288 principles. Skills: Strong practical experience in requirements management, traceability, verification criteria, and requirements validation . Strong knowledge of Verification & Validation planning, test strategy, test definition, integration, and verification execution . Hands-on experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, Jama Connect, Polarion, or equivalent . Experience with requirements baselines, change management, configuration management, and maintaining bidirectional traceability from system requirements through verification. High analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams. Strong attention to detail and capability to produce clear, high-quality technical documentation. Proactive mindset with the ability to drive system-level decisions and identify technical risks early . Communication: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and regulators. Languages: Proficiency in English. German desirable.
