Talent Acquisition & Operations Specialist

Job description

# **Talent Acquisition & Operations Specialist** ## **About Mento** Mento is a performance coaching platform on a mission to increase human potential at global scale and help people — and companies — grow. We believe coaching is one of the most powerful ways to unlock meaningful professional growth. We also believe the future of coaching is human + AI: deeply human where trust, judgment, and connection matter most, and intelligently augmented where technology can make coaching more measurable, actionable, and scalable. Mento pairs leaders with top operators in their field for 1:1 coaching and mentorship, supported by Moments, our AI intelligence layer that turns coaching into real-time insight. Our customers include Anthropic, OpenAI, Vercel, 1Password, Brex, Whatnot, Gusto, and Hims & Hers. We’re backed by leading investors including Slow Ventures, M13, and Twelve Below. ## **About the Role** We're looking for a Talent Acquisition & Operations Specialist to own and transform how Mento recruits, onboards, and supports our growing community of exceptional coaches. This is a hands-on builder-operator role for someone who thrives at the intersection of people, process, and technology. You'll have the ownership and autonomy to rethink how work gets done, implement new solutions, and continuously improve the systems that power Mento's coach community. You'll lead full-cycle coach recruiting, from sourcing and interviewing highly experienced executives and operators through selection and hiring, while building AI-powered systems that make recruiting and coach operations more efficient, personalized, and scalable. ## **Key Responsibilities** **Recruit and attract exceptional coaches** - Own full-cycle coach recruiting, from sourcing and referrals through interviewing, evaluation, selection, and hiring. - Build relationships with highly experienced executives and operators, delivering an exceptional candidate experience while maintaining Mento's high bar for quality. - Develop and optimize recruiting strategies and pipelines that respond to evolving business needs. **Build the next generation of recruiting and coach operations** - Redesign recruiting and operational workflows to eliminate manual work, improve quality, and increase scalability. - Design and implement AI-powered workflows, agents, automations, and integrations that transform how we recruit, onboard, and support coaches. - Connect tools, data, and processes to improve efficiency, visibility, and decision-making through streamlined systems and reporting. **Own and continuously improve coach operations** - Manage the coach journey from hiring through onboarding, training, and activation, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience. - Own day-to-day coach operations, including communications, support requests, recurring programs, and documentation. - Partner cross-functionally to implement new programs and tools, using data and feedback to identify opportunities and measure improvements. ## **Who You Are** **You're a strong recruiter and relationship builder.** You've owned full-cycle recruiting and confidently engage, interview, and evaluate highly experienced executives and operators. You build trust quickly and communicate with warmth and professionalism. **You're an AI-powered systems builder.** You've designed and implemented AI workflows, automations, or connected tools that meaningfully improve how work gets done. You can point to real solutions you've built and the impact they've made. **You've run programs and operations.** You've coordinated people, timelines, and handoffs to deliver a program, a rollout, or a recurring operation, and you've improved how it runs over time. **You've done this in a startup or tech company.** You've worked in fast-moving environments where priorities and hiring needs shift quickly, and you've been accountable for the outcome. **You naturally create leverage.** You spot inefficiencies, challenge existing processes, and find smarter ways of working. You're curious, resourceful, and energized by experimenting with new technologies and approaches. **You thrive with end-to-end ownership.** You're equally comfortable executing the work and improving the systems behind it. You navigate ambiguity, take initiative, and use data to drive meaningful results. **You care about coaching and human development.** You're motivated by Mento's mission and want to help build a coach community that creates meaningful growth for our members. ## **Why Join Mento** This is an opportunity to play a key role in how Mento grows and supports its coach community. You’ll work closely with Coaching, Operations, and cross-functional teams who care deeply about helping people grow at work, and about building a company with trust, respect, curiosity, and care. At Mento, we believe AI is transforming not only the tools we use, but how people collaborate, learn, and build together. Every team member is growing into a builder, cross-functional collaboration is central to how we work, and continuous learning is foundational to our culture. We’re remote-first and believe in flexibility and autonomy. We strongly believe diversity of experience, perspective, and background leads to a better environment for our team and a better product for our users. If you’re excited to help build the systems that support great coaching experiences at Mento, we’d love to meet you. ## **Benefits** *✈️ Fully Remote - ability to work from anywhere with bi-annual team offsites* *💰 Competitive salary and equity* *🏥 Medical, dental, vision, and a 401k plan* *🌴 Unlimited vacation (We actually mean this! it's important to keep yourself fresh)* *💻 $500 home office stipend* *👥 Access to your own Mento Coach*
