Talent Enablement Coach

Job description

Relay is a digital banking platform that gives self-made business owners the tools and know-how to be great with money—bringing clarity, confidence, and control to every dollar earned, so they can turn hard work into lasting success. We do this by replacing financial guesswork with real visibility, transforming cash flow from a constant source of stress into a clear signal owners can use to run stronger, more resilient businesses. At Relay we believe in Getting 1% Better Everyday - as a company and as individuals. Our Talent Enablement Team is investing in that belief by hiring an internal Talent Enablement Coach. As a Talent Enablement Coach, your mission is to make growth measurable at Relay: stronger manager effectiveness scores, better retention, and behavior change we can actually prove, not just feel. You'll partner with the Director of Talent Enablement to bring coaching programs to life for a growing group of Relayers through 1:1 and group coaching. You'll also work directly with the business to spot development needs and help the organization navigate change as we scale. **What You'll Be Doing** We’re in an exciting stage of growth and that means a lot of runway to shape how Talent Enablement supports Relayers to do the best work of their careers. Your job will be focused on coaching initiatives (1:1 and group/team) and supporting broader talent growth & development. - **Coaching:** You will be fostering the growth and development of Relayers through coaching leaders and individual contributors individually and in small cohorts working on similar themes in development. - **Leadership Development:** Facilitating programs, workshops and development initiatives that build leader capabilities for our soon-to-be leaders through to our senior leadership. - **Talent Integration:** Supporting team members’ integration into Relay through onboarding support and new leader integration. - **Share insights and make recommendations** by partnering with the business to identify development needs and consulting on development initiatives to build employee engagement and performance. **Who You Are** - **Emotionally Intelligent and Agile:** You’re insightful, adaptive and able to work with, and through, the emotions of others and yourself. You can listen deeply in powerful ways to connect with what people are experiencing and feeling to help them navigate their experience and growth. - **Bar Raiser:** You subscribe to the approach of getting better 1% everyday and never stop seeking opportunities to learn; you don’t settle for mediocrity. Making people around you better comes through in your craft as a coach, as well as how you approach learning and life; it brings you joy and a deep sense of accomplishment. - **Systems Thinker:** You approach challenges and opportunities with a holistic perspective, recognizing the interconnectedness of individuals, teams, and organizational dynamics. You analyze how various components of the system influence one another, anticipate ripple effects of changes, and design strategies and initiatives that align individual growth with organizational goals. - **Strong Communicator:** Among your super powers is facilitation and managing a room of cross functional team members. You have an empathetic and authentic voice to make sure learning is a safe space to grow. You are able to listen empathetically for understanding at multiple levels (informational, relational and contextual). - **Nimble & Creative:** You have the ability to quickly create custom workshop content for groups and teams on a range of topics. In the areas you’re not familiar with, you are willing to explore what’s out in the market and advances in research to bring the latest, evidence-based knowledge to Relayers. You understand our stage of development and pace of operating and thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and are comfortable adapting to change. - **Self Starter:** This is a new role and area of investment for Relay. You can both operate independently to build and work with other People team members, managers and leadership members within Relay to generate ideas to drive a feedback culture and foster a learning environment. **What you bring** - You have earned a Coaching Certification recognized by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) with 5+ years of delivering impactful coaching and working in the growth & development space. - Advanced degree in psychology, organizational behaviour, human development, human resources management, or related fields. - Certification and experience interpreting various psychometrics assessment tools (e.g., Hogan, Birkman, Leadership Circle Profile, EQi 2.0 or similar assessments). - Superior knowledge of science and practice of human and organizational behaviour, career and leadership development theories and practices. - Knowledge of adult development and learning principles to inform development and delivery of programs. **Bonus Points** - Have experience working in, or supporting coachees working in a startup or scale-up environment or with Product, Engineering and Delivery Teams. - Understanding of, and experience with, e-learning and other content creation platforms **The Interview Process** - **Stage 1:** A 45-minute Google Meet call with a member of the Talent team - **Stage 2:** A 60-minute Google Meet video with the Director, Talent Enablement - **Stage 3:** A 60-minute in-person sample coaching session with one of our Talent Enablement Coaches - **Stage 4:** A 45-minute in-person interview with a member of the Leadership team - **Stage 5:** A 30-minute Google Meets video call with the Chief People Officer ## **Our Compensation Approach** We believe Relayers should feel rewarded for the impact they have on our mission and growth. Compensation follows impact. As impact increases, compensation grows, and we do not limit compensation changes to a once-a-year review cycle. The annual salary range for this role is $126,000 CAD to $154,000 CAD. For candidates who demonstrate full readiness for the defined scope of the role, the typical starting salary is $140,000 CAD. Offers below this point reflect candidates we believe can grow into the full scope of the role with support and development. Offers above this point reflect impact that meaningfully exceeds the role’s defined expectations or an expanded scope from day one. We encourage you to have a conversation with your recruiter and ask questions about compensation throughout the hiring process. Comfort is a signal to push harder, not coast. You'd rather build something better than defend something familiar. - **You crave autonomy:** We trust our team with big challenges and the freedom to solve them. If you’re someone who takes initiative, is comfortable taking risks, and seeks input when needed, you’ll find the freedom here empowering. - **You own your work:** You take pride in your work, follow through on commitments, and feel a deep sense of responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks. - **You build with AI, not just use it:** You're actively embedding AI into how you work, pushing what's possible, and bringing your team along with you. - **You care about impact, not noise:** You care deeply about the substance of your work. You measure success by results, not recognition, and you let your work speak for itself. - **You’re energized by complexity and ambiguity:** You enjoy tackling problems that don’t come with a playbook. You’re comfortable building from scratch, iterating as you go, and collaborating to shape the best path forward. - **You seek out feedback:** You see directness as respect, not criticism. You actively seek input, sit with hard truths, and use feedback as fuel for improvement. - **Small businesses are why we're here:** Relay exists to help them thrive -- and that mission has to resonate with you. **Join Us** We're looking for people who are relentless, curious, and care deeply about the work. You're encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn't perfectly match the job description -- your perspective and drive matter more. We welcome diverse backgrounds and people who think critically, challenge the status quo, and want to help small businesses thrive.
