Job description
We are looking for a 6 month Fixed Term Technician to join our Microbiology Media Team based at our Lynfield Laboratory. The successful applicant will be responsible for making media and reagents to supply our Microbiology laboratories. You will need to have a good level of physical fitness and the ability to stand throughout your shift for this role. Your key duties will involve: Complete sample testing within the given turn-around-time (TAT) Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures Ensure all relevant records are kept up to date at all times Maintain a clean and tidy work area Participate and contribute to working safely Be actively involved in all the day to day improvement activities Our laboratory is open 7 days a week and flexibility to work overtime at short notice is ideal. The roster on offer includes working both weekend days. The successful applicant will be working a minimum of 40 hours per week. About you: We want to hear from motivated individuals who are keen team players with a passion for providing quality customer focus. Ideally you will have/be; Experience in a similar environment or worked in Retail or Hospitality Passionate about Microbiology as a career Good hand and eye co-ordination Strong attention to detail Ability to work under pressure Excellent time management and organisational skill Clear communication (both written and verbal) BSc Food Science or Microbiology with experience working in a busy hospitality or frontline retail role is ideal.
