Job description
The Therapy Assistant supports therapists in the delivery of therapy services to patients and clients, ensuring that therapy sessions, equipment and treatment areas are prepared and maintained safely. The role also provides administrative, operational and team support to facilitate the delivery of holistic patient and client care. Key Responsibilities A. Clinical Assist therapists in assessing clients, preparing for therapy sessions, and monitoring their response and safety throughout sessions Support therapists in implementing treatment plans and therapy procedures, including exercise and electrotherapy, in accordance with established protocols Prepare and maintain therapy equipment, materials and treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness, safety and readiness for use Maintain accurate therapy documentation and communicate relevant client progress, observations and concerns to therapists and the care team Conduct basic group therapy or exercise sessions and provide caregiver education as directed by therapists Participate in multidisciplinary discussions and contribute relevant observations on clients’ progress and care needs B. Administrative, Operational & Team Support Maintain inventory and equipment records, and support routine data entry, clerical and administrative duties Participate in departmental and organisation-wide projects, quality improvement initiatives, education and training activities Collaborate with volunteers and multidisciplinary team members to support holistic patient and client care Support staff induction and orientation, as well as portering and supervision of patients or equipment when required Ensure patient safety and infection prevention and control by adhering to DPH policies, procedures and operating guidelines at all times Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Requirements ITE/GCE “N” level or equivalent, or relevant therapy/rehabilitation support certification WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare (Therapy Support) or Certificate in Therapy Support will be an advantage Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Able to perform patient handling and transfer activities safely, in accordance with established procedures and workplace safety guidelines The successful candidate can expect a monthly basic salary up to $2,200, commensurate with experience.
