Job description
The Tool & Parts/Hazmat Coordinator orde r s, receives, inve n tories, stores, issues, and dispose s of special tools, non-aircraft parts and materials, and haza r dous materials a s required . Coordinate s with Ve n dor s and loc a l f a cilities for requisition a n d/or disposal of special tools, non-air c raft parts a n d mate r ials, and haza r dous materials. Tracks, se r vices, and maintains special tools and equipment. Maintains haz a rdous material stor a ge locke r s. Essential Responsibilitie s : Ensure s all spe c ial tools are maintained in good working c o ndition, acc u rately inventoried and accounte d for at all times. Ensure s all tools re q uiring calibr a tion are ta k en care in accord a nc e with Company and loc a l operating pr o ce d ures. I ssues all special tools to the maintena n ce pe r sonnel as re q uire d . Ensure s all tools ar e returned to the tool room at end of ea c h shift. Reports all missing and damage d tools immediately in ac c ordanc e with Compa n y proc e dures. Coordinates mate r ial reque s ts with the supply warehouse. Maintains material control register of non-aircraft pa r ts r e quisitions f o r the maintena n ce depa r tme n t a n d a log for all r e trogr a de mate r ial returned to COMBS. Assists during property audits / inve n tories. Maintains pre - expende d bin (PEB) of non-COMBS pr o vide d material in support of special tool and shop support materials ba s ed on usage and demand. Resea r ch pa r ts for alternate pa r t numbers, supe r sessions, or ne x t higher assemblies. I nputs data into a c o mpute r ize d system to effectively control PEB material, special tool, and material issue s . I dentify necessa r y r e quirements and develop HAZMAT pr o gram for site to f o llow in compliance with establishe d loc a l and fe d eral standar d s to include or d ering of HAZMAT a s well a s trac k ing shelf life and maintaining a c cur a te inve n tories. Ensure comprehe n sive impleme n tation of the HAZMA T program in each a r ea where materials are located a n d standa r ds are being follow e d per e s tablished local a n d feder a l proc e dures. Assist site personnel, as require d in the da y -to-day operations of the HA Z MA T pr o gram. Enfor c e saf e w o rk practic e s following loc a l a n d fede r al standar d s. Review and update site HA Z MA T , AU L a n d MSDS rec o rds per loc a l and f e deral standar d s ensuring the y are maintaine d, and inventories a r e kept current with the latest c h ange s . Maintains cle a nline s s of the work c e nter. De a ls with the c u stomer and vendo r s in c o urteous, profe s sional, and effective manne r . Complie s with For e ign Object Damage (FOD), Haz a rdous waste, and tool control programs. Complie s with all e s tablished ge n eral a n d industrial sa f ety rules a n d r e gulations as applica b le to the c o ntract, facility a n d job a s signment. Assists as directed to ensure safety, sec u rity and pre s ervation of government / company owne d e q uipme n t. Perf o rms othe r related duties as a s signe d by ma n agement. Perf o rm all other position-related duties a s a s signe d or re q ue s ted. Minimum Positi o n Kn o wledge, Skills, and Abilitie s Requir e d: High school diploma or equivalent re q uired. Satisfactory completion of U.S. A r me d For c es material control cour s es or civilian equivale n t or two ( 2 ) years’ e xperience in aviation supply re q uire d . Must be able to meet any G o vernme n t / Company licensing / qualification r e quirements for the position. Completion of the 24- h our Resource Conse r vation a n d Recovery Act (RCRA) 24-hour I ntroduction to Haz a rdous Waste Generation a n d Ha n dling course . Cin: A-493 - 0080. Must have two ( 2 ) years’ e xperien ce in a v iation supply pr o cedure s . Computer ke y punch expe r ienc e or equivalent typing expe r ience required. Poss e ss a wor k ing knowledge of tool room, saf e ty, a n d aviation supply pr o cedure s . Must be able to r e ad a n d interpr e t pa r ts c a talogs and oper a te a computer . Must be able to follow written proce d ures for or d ering, re c eiving, issuing, sec u ring, maintaining, and inventorying tools and special equipment. Must have the ability to identify, inventory, issue a n d c o ntrol a wide variety of pa r ts, mate r ials, tools, and equipment utiliz e d in aircraft maintenance. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Climbing, standing, s to o ping, bending, stretching and wor k ing in uncomfortable positions. Required to lift up to 50 lbs. Ma y be re q uire d to handle ha z ardous materials. Will be re q uire d to wear pr o tective clothing a n d othe r safety equipment. The dive r sity of working c o nditions may range from standa r d shop type environment where here is no physical discomfort, to a n environme n t w h ere inclement we a the r may subject individual to se v ere changes in temper a ture , wind, rain, etc. May be required to wor k where high noise ha z ar d s prevail. Will be re q uire d to we a r pr o tective clothing a n d othe r safety equipment. Will be require d to handle ha z ardous materials and chemicals.
