At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, our Industrial Placement gives ambitious students 12 months inside Formula 1. Join a high-performance team, push boundaries, make an impact. Vehicle Engineering is at the heart of engineering disciplines with Atlassian Williams F1 Team. A team of highly skilled and experienced designers work closely with all other engineering disciplines within the team such as Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics, Manufacturing and Simulation to name a few, to deliver the car design in relentless pursuit of performance using leading edge manufacturing, design and materials technology. In this placement, you’ll work on the systems that get power to the wheels and keep the car running lap after lap - transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics and fuel systems. You’ll take designs from initial concept through to a part fitted on the car, then see the impact of your work in testing. Design and detail components across transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics and fuel systems, balancing weight, strength and cost Support structural and functional calculations that back up your designs Work with aerodynamics, chassis, electronics and production teams, putting teamwork into practice as you fit parts into the wider car Draw on resilience as you investigate faults and see each one through to a fix What we are looking for: Studying towards a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Marine or a related engineering discipline Some experience with CAD is useful, but full training is provided Life at Williams Based at our Grove campus in Oxfordshire, enjoy competitive benefits, exclusive events, subsidised dining, special car schemes, and 24/7 gym access with fitness classes.
