Closing date: 17/09/2026 Number of positions: 1 Recruiter name: Elgera Guadalquiver Reference number: 73499 Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital | Abu Dhabi | United Arab Emirates MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB To lead and manage the midwifery/nursing team in the provision of patient-centric and evidence based nursing care, operational efficiency and positive patient experiences KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS To provide strong leadership and management guidance to the team To ensure evidence based patient care practices are followed as per clinical standards To ensure positive patient experiences by developing employees and creating an environment that enables team engagement To manage allocated clinical and non-clinical resources in a cost efficient and effective manner to enhance safe patient care To monitor and manage compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards to ensure continuous quality improvement To lead obstetric emergency preparedness and response across the unit, ensuring the team is drilled, competent and ready to manage clinical emergencies at any time To plan and manage capacity, staffing and patient flow proactively in response to growing unit activity, escalating and adapting resourcing as demand changes REQUIRED EDUCATION Essential: Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery Desired: Master of Science in Midwifery/Nursing or related Healthcare field REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Essential: At least 3-5 years’ senior midwifery experience, preferably in a private hospital Desired: 5-10 years senior midwifery experience, including experience managing a high-volume Labour and Delivery service REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Demonstrate the ability to implement all five (5) stages of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation and evaluation) Presentation Skills UAE Labour Law Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications Cost management principles Demonstrate Nursing functional competence (Nursing practice) Demonstrate the ability to manage meetings effectively Quality management and governance standards and best practice Risk management principles, systems and best practice Skilled in the demonstration and assessment of all relevant clinical procedures Stock control principles and management UAE healthcare regulatory framework and related requirements Workforce planning and scheduling All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given to the designated groups in accordance with the United Arab Emirates Emiratization Program.
