DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital is hiring full-time Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT) to join our Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) and Outpatient Services teams in Portland, Oregon. Note for applicants: This is DoveLewis’ general Veterinary Technician posting and serves as a primary entry point for credentialed technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT). Based on your background and interests, candidates who apply here may be considered for department-specific technician openings, including Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, and other teams. Pay $28–$36/hour for Certified/Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technicians or technicians with credentials transferable to Oregon $38–$44/hour for Veterinary Technician Specialists (VTS) 12% overnight differential for applicable shifts 10% weekend differential for applicable shifts Schedule Our Outpatient Services and ECC Veterinary Technicians work 10-hour shifts on a rotating 3/4 schedule . That means a consistent schedule you can plan around, and three or four days off in a row every week. All schedules include one weekend day each week. What You'll Do As a DoveLewis Veterinary Technician, you’ll provide skilled nursing care to emergency and high-acuity patients while working collaboratively with veterinarians, Criticalists, specialists, and fellow technicians. Calculating dosages and administering medications Running in-house lab work Placing tubes and catheters Monitoring anesthesia and patient recovery Ensuring patient comfort Updating clients on their pet’s progress Collaborating with outpatient and specialty teams to deliver smooth, high-standard care You may also have the opportunity to help manage advanced critical care cases under the direction of board-certified Criticalists, including: Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) Total plasma exchange (TPE) High-flow oxygen therapy Ventilator management …and more What We're Looking For Requirements: Current status as a CVT/LVT/RVT (or credential transferable to Oregon) High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years working in the veterinary field as a technician or assistant (preferred) 1+ year emergency and/or specialty small animal experience (preferred) Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered What You Can Look Forward to at DoveLewis: Use your credentials fully and be valued as a clinical professional.
