Job description
The UBC Sales Association is committed to building a strong student sales ecosystem on campus. We connect students with experienced professionals, run hands-on training events, and deliver high-impact programs such as the Sales Mentorship Program (SMP), Sales Pitch Competition (SPC) and learning/networking workshops. The VP External (x2) work together as peer partners to jointly reach out and manage all UBC Sales stakeholders, from alumni connections, external sponsorships, and monetary sponsorships. ### Time Commitment - Approximately **5-10 hours per week,** with responsibilities divided between the two VP Externals. - Workload may increase during mentor recruitment and leading up to the Sales Pitch Competition. - Expected to attend executive meetings and UBC Sales events when available. ### Term of Employment September 2026 - April 2027 ### Main Responsibilities - Build and maintain relationships with sales professionals, UBC alumni, companies, and other industry partners. - Recruit and communicate with mentors for the **Sales Mentorship Program (SMP)**. - Source and invite speakers and professionals for UBC Sales' **three learning and networking events.** - Conduct outreach to secure **judges, sponsors, and industry partners** for the Sales Pitch Competition. - **Seek monetary and in-kind sponsorships,** including food, beverages, prizes, and other event support. - Draft professional outreach emails, partnership proposals, and follow-ups. - Track outreach progress, contacts, responses, and partnership opportunities. - Collaborate with Marketing and Logistics to ensure external partners are appropriately communicated with, accommodated, and recognized. ### Qualifications - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Comfortable reaching out to and building relationships with new people. - Professional, proactive, and reliable when communicating with external stakeholders. - Interest in sales, business development, networking, or relationship management. - Strong organization and follow-up skills. - Previous sales, sponsorship, or outreach experience is an asset, but not required.
