E.L. Harvey & Sons is looking for a Welder/ Co mpactor Technician to join our team in New Bedford, MA . Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30 Rate: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience) As a Welder/ Co mpactor Technician with us the minimum responsibilities are: Perform welding and electrical repair of trash containers and compactors. Perform sanding and painting of trash containers. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks. What we need from you: Prior experience with electrical and hydraulic systems is highly preferred. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting , pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair containers in the yard. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basic safety precautions. Respirator fit test required.
