WordPress Developer – Global Wave Group Location: Albany, Auckland (Office based) Reports to: Head of IT Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain the website using WordPress and PHP . Build responsive, high-performance web pages from UI/UX designs . Customize WordPress themes & plugins ; write clean PHP code . Optimize website performance, speed, SEO structure, and user experience . Troubleshoot bugs, refine workflows, and improve site functionality . Work closely with product, marketing, and design teams to deliver updates . Essential Requirements 3 + years of experience in WordPress or Front-End Development . Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering , or related field . Strong PHP programming skills . Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript , and jQuery . Hands-on experience with WordPress themes, plugins, hooks , and filters . Understanding of SEO-friendly site structure . Professional English (written & verbal), Conversational Mandarin is a plus. Desirable Experience with Element , WPBakery , or building custom plugins . Experience in the financial industry . Knowledge of REST APIs & website integrations . Familiarity with hosting, DNS, and server environments .
